Finding My Spark After 50
Life shifts dramatically as women reach menopause and beyond. For me, it was the "empty nest." I realized I'd poured everything into my kids, sometimes sacrificing my own well-being. Grey hair and feeling obsolete crept in. This is my story of rediscovering myself and finding hope during the hot flashes of life.

The Empty Nest and a New Beginning
With the kids grown, I felt lost. I went back to school and really enjoyed it. I learned a lot that I never new and it expanded my horizons. Then Covid hit. During Covid, I decided to build a business, a new challenge to fill the void. It didn't pan out as planned, and discouragement set in. Sound familiar? The key is to not give up. Instead, try something new, something that reignites your passion. I decided to be a light in the dark to other women like myself and start this blog.

Overcoming a Negative Mindset
One of the biggest hurdles for women over 50 is a negative mindset. It's easy to feel invisible or irrelevant. But we have so much to offer! We need to challenge those negative thoughts and focus on our strengths and experiences. It's time to reclaim our power and live our best lives. I read a book that gave me an extra bit of food for thought called, "Everything is Figureoutable," by Marie Forleo. Her mother's can do spirit sounded a lot like my own and encouraged me to continue to be what I wanted and to realize my true freedom at this stage in life. I am woman hear me roar!!!

Advice to My Younger Self
If I could go back, I'd tell myself: "In all stages of life, don't panic. With a little bit of thinking, there's nothing you can't figure out, because you always have, and you're still standing." Aging is a journey, not a crisis. Embrace it with hope and a sense of adventure.
